Codes and Conventions
Generally in a horror film there are some key iconic scenes that are in almost all horror films:
There is almost always an extraordinary situation for a death or murder with either multiple or no suspect, this is to intrigue the audience in to coming up with there own theory of who killed the victim, or what happened.
Whenever there is a young child, teenager, or any age female in danger there is no type of authority, leaving them vulnerable and able to be killed.
There can also be a hero type character, usually trying to do an act of heroism and almost always getting themselves or others killed because of there stupid actions. Also because it's a horror film there is most always lots of blood or violence ending in a type of death. Finally at the end of the teaser the title of the movie is in a creepy or Gothic font to it.
