This is our Bloody Mary getting bandaged up and ready for a day of filming. We had a number of ideas that we wanted Bloody Mary to looks like so we then drew each one out and discussed what we thought would be best and what would look best on camera. We chose to only bandage one of her hands but that we could rip the bottom of the dress so that it could look very worn.

This is our group filming a shot of Bloody Mary crawling up some stone steps and we had to discuss the right camera angle so that it would not just look good there and then, but that it would looks good when we edited everything together so that it wouldn't be a problem. We made sure not to get the flower pots or bin in the shot and we then took a long shot of Mary walking up the steps towards the camera. We could then use thing later in Final Cut Express and cut it into different parts to look more supernatural. |
This is our group in the basement discussing what would be the best shot to take, and how we could implement the candles into the shot. We agreed to then turn the lights off and have Bloody Mary close to the camera, grinning and then blowing out the candle so that the room went completely dark. This was very effective as the candle was just bright enough to show Mary's face but not give away where she was, creating the illusion that she could be anywhere. |
We chose to try and get a couple of original shots and this was us trying to shoot the shadow of Bloody Mary on the white wall, whilst a victim is cowering in the corner, this would be effective in out trailer to show that the patient was not the only victim of Bloody Mary, but the only one who survived. We then thought that Bloody Mary could have a weapon so that the shadow looked a lot more sinister and frightening. This was very effective. |
This is us in the woods discussing what shots would look good and how we could implement them into the teaser trailer. We also brought some creepy jewelry with us to hang it on the tree to show that a victim could have been there before and then audience do not know what happened to her. We did not end up using this shot in the actual trailer because we thought that it didn't fit with the atmosphere of the trailer. |
This is Bloody Mary posing for photos which we then used later in our poster and magazine design. We had to make sure that the lighting was correct because of this so we took a lot of photos which we could then look through later, pick the best ones and then edit on Photoshop, darkening the edges with the burn tool and adding more layers to use as the background, then changing the opacity of the layers to make sure they were not too overpowering to the main iconic image. |
This was Bloody Mary getting covered in fake blood to appeal to the conventional myth of her bathing in the blood of virgins. This is why we also had a victim in the bathtub with her, also covered in blood. Bloody Mary having her feet on top of the victim is supposed to show that for her killing people is fun, and enjoyable. We wanted to try and get that across to the viewer and for a while we thought that this would be a good idea to have for a poster but after discussion we decided it didn't fit, especially after we edited the pictures and added titles to them. |
